A journey begins in Italy’s beauty industry
In 1982 the business known today as TecnoDry began under the name Tecno Elettra. From the start it focused on designing and making professional hair dryers, bringing together technical knowledge, Italian manufacturing skill and the needs of hairdressing professionals.
- Over the decades
Engineering for professional beauty
As the manufacturer tells it, new models were created over time with more technology and the attention to detail of Italian craftsmanship, aiming for dryers that are more powerful and lighter. Ergonomic design, motor technology, airflow control and build quality have guided this development.
From handmade work to industrial production
The manufacturer sees its aim as combining the tradition of handmade work with industrial-scale production, and has invested in research, development and quality control, for tools that salons use every day.

A new chapter as TecnoDry
According to an industry source, in 2022 TecnoDry took over from Tecno Elettra, carrying on the tradition of Italian-made hair dryers under a new identity. The manufacturer’s website describes the link as “Tecno Elettra, now TECNO DRY”. The new name and identity brought industrial manufacturing experience, contemporary design and professional hair-dryer technology closer together.
